About the Family Practice Opportunity:
Join a medical staff that is comprised of seven physicians, five midlevel providers and a team of nurses and other support staff. Specialties include Family Practice, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Due to the large number of patients with Diabetes, a clinical pharmacist leads a team providing management of Diabetes and other chronic diseases. This service has proven invaluable to the medical provider staff.
Physicians are expected to work a 40-hour week, 36 hours of clinical time and 4 hours of administrative time each week. This is a 100% Outpatient position with no weekends. The productivity expectation is 23-25 patients per day, following an appropriate period of orientation. Each physician is assigned an LPN to work side-by-side with him/her in the daily provision of patient care and to supervise that person. A team of certified nursing assistants help to keep treatment rooms filled and Spanish medical interpreters are readily available to assist with mono-lingual patients.
The facility itself is approximately 14,000 SF, built in 2005. Three “pods” comprise the medical treatment area. Each “pod” supports a nurses’ station and 8 treatment rooms. On most days, there are 2 providers assigned to each “pod”, as well as a certified nursing assistant, a language interpreter and assigned nursing staff. A laboratory is on-site to accommodate most testing needs and a referral clerk is available to help arrange specialty referrals.
After-hours hospital call is shared among providers, with Hospitalist coordinating hospital admissions and treatment. Although physicians are welcomed to admit their own patients to the hospital, most of this work is done by the Hospitalists.
New physicians are encouraged to commit to a two-year Employment Agreement. A signing bonus is provided. The wage/salary benefit program is very competitive and the site qualifies for State and Federal loan repayment programs.
