Take an audit of yourself, and own every part of it; even the bad aspects that you may currently have. To really grow in your personal development, you need to both understand yourself and love yourself for who you are. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't want to change the bad aspects; you should. But loathing yourself will only hamper your ability to change.
Habits are something that can be very hard to break. In order to build your personal development, you need to put the effort in, to break all the negative habits that you have. Value the choice that you make in an effort to break your bad habits and you will have a much simpler time succeeding.
Praise and compliments only amount to so much when the flowery words are removed; take the time to filter and process. Those around you may pander to your sense of well-being and say things that are not always what they seem. Listen closely and get to the meat of the feedback so you can build upon the positives without losing yourself in the glory.
Stay focused. It's easy to get distracted from goals by life events and circumstances, but if you stay focused on your goal, you will reach your goal no matter what. So many people let their dreams fall by the wayside. Don't let that happen to you. Keep your focus at all costs.
